This was due the moment I figured out that the Hercules Arrow what I have wasn’t really helping my cause and making me enjoy my rides.
Hercules Arrow was my first owned bike, it was bought when I was thinking of getting back to cycling, but thought of something which can be used by my wife and me. It was a unisex bike from Indian manufacturer BSA Hercules, I personally do not have any grudge against them, but I didn’t really like this bike much.
I bought the Hercules Arrow sometime at the end of 2010 and for next one year, I might have had about 200 to 300km attached to it. That should give an idea how much I rode on it, or how much I enjoyed riding on it. It was made of steel, must be thicker tubes and a weird shape that it would have weighed close to 25Kg in weight.
Later I happened to have some health issues and had to get back to cycling strongly.
The day Schwinn came home..
I increased my intensity of rides on the Hercules Arrow until one day I did a major climb on it. Not only that I couldn’t climb properly, but I almost was on the verge of fainting the moment I reached home. I took a brief nap of about 1 hour and by the time I got up, the decision was taken.
The model was already decided after I could follow some of the instructions mentioned in BikesZone forums. I went to the store about a km away from home negotiated the price of Schwinn Sporterra and paid him before taking it home.
Following are some of the snaps I took on that evening.
