For anything and everything, there is a first. In an attempt to regain fitness and control weight, I chose to cycling and this is how the last year looked like when I started off.
2012 isn’t the year I started cycling, but I can say this is the year I became more serious into cycling and looked at it as the sport which suits me than running (I have bad knees, probably due to my overweight).
To be frank, I am not too happy about the numbers, but yes everyone have to start to somewhere and here I am and I look forward to improve them. So here goes my stats for 2012 in terms of cycling.
I did about 1143 km for the entire year of 2012, which I feel could have been more if I were more consistent. But I had roadblocks which prevented me from being consistent.
My work hours stretched to late nights and this prevented me from having an early ride most of the times.
I met with a minor accident with a motor biker which left a broken pedal on my bike and I didn’t do similar sort of distance as I did in the months of March and April 2012. Then another roadblock came when I had a crash which left me with some scratches on my arms and knees.
In the month of November I was in the US for a few days and the preparation for the travel and visa process did damages to my mileages again. I am now trying to add some mileages while riding on an indoor trainer.
I started riding on my Hercules Arrow bike at the start of the year and it had a definite effect on my riding speed. My speed improved when I switched to my Sporterra and now I am trying to improve my cadence and thus improve my speed on the longer run. Due to which I had to giveaway some speed for now.
My riding times over the months represent how my dedication towards it was. I loved the months of March and April, thats when I bouht my Sporterra and spent a good amount of time on it’s saddle. I could never reach that many hours till then, but yes I am looking forward to beat it sooner.
How the year went for you folks?
